Cleveland-Cliffs Inc

Supporting the Northeast Range High School was a sure way to fulfill the Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation’s mission to build more vibrant communities.  Northeast Range High, home of the Babbitt Nighthawks, has not had the opportunity to play a game under the Friday night lights at the Joe Boffa Memorial Football Field since experiencing an electrical failure over a decade ago. This led Northeast Range High students to raise funds from local businesses and alumni to bring back this fun opportunity for the community to cheer on their team and support local youth. A contribution from the Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation, combined with other donations, will allow the school to retrofit the lighting system and bring back night games for the benefit of the entire community.

Partner Testimony

Cleveland-Cliffs has provided a long-overdue opportunity for both the school and local community of Babbitt to experience night time football games again. Just thinking about the excitement of playing under the lights, at night, with students, staff, and community members cheering on our home team, the Northeast Range Nighthawks, brings a smile and positive energy to everyone involved. We can't wait for the first night game to be held! We are extremely grateful to Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation for helping to make a 10-year dream into reality.”
